In Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh, with the help of Prevention of Corruption Organization (Utah), the Anti-Corruption Team Jhansi has caught the Tehsil Lekhpal taking bribe. He is being caught and interrogated at Kotwali. This action has stirred the accountants.
Mayank Rajput, a farmer of Aunta village of Rath Kotwali area of Hamirpur district, told that there is agricultural land in Aunta Mauja in the name of father Radhakishun. In which culverts were being constructed for traffic. Lekhpal Ramashankar stopped the construction work. The investigation of the matter was handed over to the said accountant on application to the officers. Mayank alleges that the Lekhpal demanded a bribe of Rs 35,000 in the name of getting approval. After much pleading, the lekhpal agreed to thirty thousand. Talk was made on giving 15 thousand now and 15 thousand in a few days.
The farmer told that he contacted Vijay Patel, the state treasurer of Utah, a teacher’s organization fighting against corruption. Filed a complaint with the Jhansi unit of the Anti-Corruption Organization. On the initiative of the organizations, the Anti-Corruption Team caught Lekhpal red handed while taking a bribe of 15 thousand late on Tuesday evening. The team has caught them and taken them to the Kotwali. Where interrogation is being done in a closed room. Kotwal Rajesh Chandra Tripathi said that the anti-corruption team has caught Lekhpal taking bribe.
