U.P: Former retired IAS officer’s house raided by Uttar Pradesh Police

Former IAS officer Surya Pratap Singh has come under the target of Uttar Pradesh government. On Saturday, the UP Police raided his residence. Interrogated for about 4 hours. In the recent past, about half a dozen cases have been registered against Singh. Regarding the raid, he said, “Today again realized that if there is any biggest criminal in UP, it is Surya Pratap Singh. “

The latest controversy is related to Twitter. Recently an audio went viral. In which it was heard saying that, ‘Trend has to be run on Twitter in support of the Chief Minister. There will be a total of 20 tweets. Will be paid at the rate of 2 rupees per tweet.

In this case, on May 31, Atul Kushwaha lodged an FIR in Kanpur. In which Surya Pratap Singh, Puneet Saini and Himanshu Saini were made accused. Action in those accused of spreading misleading information. The state government had suffered a lot due to this development.
Actually, Surya Pratap Singh is a strong critic of the state government. They have raised questions on the functioning of the administration. Asks questions on public problems, law and order issues. In the second wave of Corona, he raised the matters of dead bodies, vaccine and oxygen crisis in the Ganges. In this case also cases were registered against him in Unnao and other districts. In which he has got relief from the High Court in the Unnao case.

The police had reached his house for questioning only regarding the last many cases. Regarding the long interrogation of about 4 hours, Pratap said – ‘The matter is in the Honorable High Court, so I do not want to make a public statement on the general inquiry.

In a tweet, he said, “I am bound by values, compelled by upbringing. No matter how difficult the path of truth is, I will walk on that path. File an FIR, torture, arrest or crucify. My path will not change. If I bow down, it will be an insult to the culture I got from my father and gurus.”

Meanwhile, Twitter has alerted Surya Pratap Singh of the complaints received about his Twitter handle. On this, Singh said- ‘Uttar Pradesh government wants to take action by sending a legal notice on my Twitter account. What is the intention? Have the account suspended? My freedom of expression has to be suppressed. Intimidating the questioners? Why are you so afraid of critics? Why are you sprouting the seeds of undemocratic thinking.
