Maulana Mahmood Madani demands ‘Safety of mosques should be ensured through Central Vista Project’

New Delhi: Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind National President Maulana Mahmood A Madani has expressed concern over the mosques coming up under the Vista project in Delhi. He has written a letter to the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, demanding that the security of these mosques should be ensured in any case, no negative attitude will be accepted in this regard and no alternative will be sought There is no scope.

It is noteworthy that in the area under Central Vista Project, Jabta Ganj Masjid (Man Singh Road) (2) Rakabganj Masjid (near Gurudwara Sri Rab Ganj Sahib) (4) Krishi Bhawan Masjid (Krishi Bhawan) (4) Sunehri Bagh Road Masjid (near Udyog Bhawan) (2) A public mosque that was later made part of the Vice President’s House. There is a lot of public concern about these mosques. A delegation led by Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind General Secretary Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi has visited all these mosques on 6th June and collected the details of all the mosques one by one.

Maulana Mahmood Madani, president of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, has categorically stated that these mosques are part of our ancient world heritage, which should be preserved at any cost. If they get damaged, the country will be defamed all over the world and the heart of a large section of the country will also be in jeopardy. Therefore, for their safety, the Government of India should have a concrete plan, which it also announces clearly.

It has been said in the letter that the above four mosques are currently inhabited. As far as the mosque located in the premises of the residence of the Vice President of the Republic of India is concerned, the Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has insisted that it should also be preserved for its original purpose. We have credible information that the said mosque was also inhabited till the end of 2016-17 as the Vice President’s residence and the adjoining premises are also under the Ministry of Housing and Civil Affairs, Government of India. The delegation of Jamiat should be given the facility to inspect the said mosque at the specified time. The team of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind wants to formally inspect the mosque so that the matter is known with certainty.

Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind’s delegation included Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi, Qari Abdul Sami, Vice President Jamiat Ulama-e-Delhi, Maulana Ziaullah Qasmi, Maulana Yasin Jahji and Azimullah Siddiqui.
