Delhi Police cyber cell, on Saturday, arrested a 21-year-old climate activist Disha Ravi from Bengaluru for her alleged role in “spreading a toolkit” associated to the farmers’ protests. Ravi was brought to Delhi where she was formally arrested and will be produced before a magistrate.

Disha Ravi is one of the founders of ‘Fridays for Future’ campaign and has close links with Greta Thunberg.

She was picked up from her residence in Bengaluru. Police have also seized her laptop computer and cell phone for further investigation.

“We’ve got discovered that she made several changes in the toolkit associated to farmers protest and further spread it in certain groups on social media,” a senior official told The Hindu.

After a Twitter row over farmers protests between international influencers and India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Delhi police registered an FIR under Part 124A (sedition), 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) against the people who created and spread ‘toolkit’.

On February 3, climate activist Greta Thunberg shared a tweet sharing a ‘toolkit’ on how to support the ongoing farmers’ protest in India. The tweet was soon deleted and that evening Greta shared an up to date toolkit.

Reports from Bengaluru are saying that her family and counsel were groping in the dark as no details of the FIR is in the public area.

Disha Ravi, who graduated from Mount Carmel college in Bengaluru, is currently working as a culinary experience manager with a company that produces plant-based food, reports The News Minute.
