Bihar: When he refused to work in the house, the bullies killed the Dalit youth

Even in the 21st century, the number of crimes being committed on the basis of religion and caste is not taking its name to stop and it is increasing day by day. The new case is from Siwan district of Bihar. Where on Wednesday, a Dalit named Rampravesh Ram was murdered by some people abusing caste words on a trivial matter. Enraged by the murder, people blocked the main road of the area with the dead body on Thursday and demanded the arrest of the accused. In this case, the administration has arrested 3 out of 8 named accused so far. This incident happened on 3rd June.

There was a stir in Ratan Padoli Tiwari Tola of Bhagwanpur Haat in Siwan district on Wednesday when the news of a fatal attack on resident Rampravesh Ram alias Rajbali Ram came to light. In a hurry, the injured were taken to the Maharajganj Primary Health Center for treatment, but due to the serious condition, the doctors referred the injured Rampravesh to the Sadar Hospital, after which it was asked to be taken from the Sadar Hospital to the PMCH in Patna. In the end, before reaching Patna, Rampravesh lost the battle for life and died.

Angered by the news of the death, the villagers demonstrated by placing the dead body on the road. Due to which the road from Basantpur to Maharajganj remained jammed for hours. The protesters were continuously demanding the arrest of the accused. Azad Samaj Party’s state general secretary Ejaz Ahmed Siddiqui also came forward to support the protesters. They demanded the arrest of the accused as well as providing compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the victim’s family and a government job to a member of a scheduled caste family as announced by the government.

Ejaz Ahmed Siddiqui while giving information about the incident in a conversation with twocircles.net said that administrative proceedings are going on in which 3 arrests have been made so far and we are continuously pressurizing for the rest of the arrests. Siddiqui further adds, “If there is even a slight lapse by the administration, we will sit on dharna and for this we will also meet senior officials.”

On the demands of the rest of the financial compensation and government jobs, Siddiqui said that those people have met the BDO in which the BDO has assured them that whatever possible help can be done will be done and for now an amount of 20 thousand rupees. has also been provided to the family of the victim. Siddiqui further adds, “The process is going on, if any problem comes up in that, then the District Magistrate will be met.”

In this context, Chandrashekhar Azad, the head of Azad Samaj Party, has also started a campaign to get justice for the victim’s family in this case by tweeting on June 4. He wrote, “Caste based genocide is taking a horrific form in the country. In Bihar’s Siwan district, 8 cowards brutally murdered a SC man for not doing household chores. The police are yet to arrest all the killers. The team of Bhim Army/ASP is standing on the spot and will provide justice to the victim’s family.”

According to Ram Awadhesh Ram, brother of the deceased Rampravesh, his brother and son were called by the accused to the Paniyadih garden and accused them of not doing the housework of a person named Nitish. Nitish was also among those accused there. After that they abused Rampravesh by saying some casteist words and on protesting all the accused broke down on him and started beating him.

The accused used hockey sticks and rods etc. for the attack. Ram Awadhesh further explains that in the fight, my brother Rampravesh Ram suffered a severe head injury. When the nearby people reached on their shouts, all the accused fled away. The deceased Rampravesh was doing shuttering work when he was called to the garden by the accused by phone.

CO Yogesh Das, SHO Pankaj Kumar, ASI Shashibhushan Kumar, Aftab Alam and CP Paswan reached the protest site with the police force as soon as the news of the protest and road jam was received after the death. The administration assured the protesters that the murder accused would be arrested at the earliest. After which the road jam which was going on for 3-4 hours was ended.

According to the information received, while taking action in the case, the police on Thursday arrested three accused Malinder Singh, Kalyan Singh and Jairam Singh. They were sent to jail on Friday. Rest of the accused are absconding and search is on for them. Eight people were booked for murder on the application of Ram Awadhesh Ram, brother of the deceased. In which the names of Nitish Kumar Singh alias Police, Malidar Singh alias Toofani, Jairam Singh, Raju Sah, Amit Mahato, Chandrashekhar Kumar Singh, Kalyan Singh, Mohit Singh, resident of Paniyadih are included.
