Directorate of Revenue intelligence , arrested two man with 293.81 kg heroin

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mumbai says it has recovered 293.81 kgs of heroin in six gunny bags concealed in two containers packed with semi-processed talc stones imported by a Punjab-based firm from Afghanistan .

Prabhjit Singh, the proprietor of the firm which imported that consignment, was arrested by DRI, Amritsar Regional Unit on July 1. He was brought to Mumbai & produced before the Panvel Court today and has been remanded to DRI custody till July 12.
Two associates of Prabhjit Singh were arrested by DRI Indore Zonal Unit officers from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh & are being brought on transit remand from Indore to Mumbai.
It is estimated that the value of this contraband consignment of heroin (293.81 kgs) would be over Rs 2000 crores in the international illicit market said DRI
